In a recent interview (lost the link, sorry) Bruce said he plans to play 4-5 songs of ‘The Mandrake Project’ on the new tour. Considering that the 2 singles will likely be on it, plus an honest guess would be ‘Eternity Has Failed’. What would be the other one (or two) in your opinion? Is there a space for one of the ballads?
I would say: both singles, plus “Many Doors” and “Fingers in the Wounds”. Maybe “Eternity Has Failed” then if they really do five songs, which I doubt.
Regarding the ballads: Bruce has ruled “Sonata” out earlier, and I don’t think “Face in the Mirror” (low energy) and “Shadow of the Gods” (too long) have good chances. After all, “Tears” is certain and there are a couple of other older ballads with good setlist potential, and you can’t have too many of those on this tour, according to Bruce (Swedish interview in December). He wants to go for more in-your-face style songs in general, like the ones I mentioned above.
Unconfirmed, but I saw it mentioned online that Bruce said at a signing that they’d be playing the first four songs from The Mandrake Project on the tour.
I would buy that! Wouldn’t expect to hear “Resurrection Men” but I’d certainly be interested.
Truth be told, I never want to know the setlist in advance.
Maybe a chance for some Skunkworks tracks after all…

I retitled this thread to make it the official thread for discussing this year’s tour, since that’s essentially what it’s turning into.
Not counting but 20 days to the first show of the tour for me. Starting the engines to tour with bikes 10 days before the Glasgow concert. Gonna ride on the coast line of UK all over to Scotland, hope the weather will be good as in Finland it´ s been fucking cold spring.
What I’ve seen from the videos gigs are looking and sounding great. Happy with the rotation of the set. Let’s see if they bring any more new/old songs to the set which I doubt but it would be cool though. Tanya seems to be quite a fan favourite and great to see her giving some insights on tour in IG as well as Philip Naslund too. This same stuff would be great to see on Maiden tours and studio etc. but they seem to take it so seriously when they have that machine vs. Bruce doing his solo thing.
The tour debut of ”Gates Of Urizen”:
Nice song. Better sounding live track than “Navigate The Seas Of The Sun”, imo. They should have played it earlier during the tour. Now, I would like them to play “Broken” and “Silver Wings”.
Bruce apparently just played “Faith” in Wolverhampton!
I see you’ve been using spoiler-free modes here, which is great. But I haven’t visited this thread since the beginning of the tour! I also shut down most of my social media feeds and told everyone I know that I don’t want to know any details about the setlist. And I did it! I only accidentally saw two songs mentioned in some news headlines, but those two were obvious choices anyway.
This is to say that I witnessed the show in Helsinki last night.
What a show.
The show in Helsinki, Finland, was as good as I could ever have imagined it to be. Bruce himself was in a fantastic form, hitting the high notes and having fun. Whatever problems he recently had with his voice because of that virus, they were long gone. Only towards the end of the show there were some songs where it felt like he was pushing his limits. But the rest of the show, wow.
The band was good fun, especially Mistheria impressed me with his energy and stage antics. They played flawlessly and looked like they were having a great time together. I also liked the fact that there were five microphones at the front of the stage, each of which were used during choruses and such.
And the setlist… just wow again.
The venue is somewhat infamous for its below par acoustics. This time, during the first few songs, it was quite confusing that the music was played at a very low volume. It could not compete with the roar from the crowd at all! I could see Bruce singing but I hardly heard him. This got fixed gradually though. But maybe there were lots of people like me, who weren’t there to “see the Iron Maiden vocalist do something else for a change” but to FINALLY after all these long years see the man in action with the music that is possibly even more important to us than that of Iron Maiden.
At many points during the last decade or so, I have wondered if this is ever going to happen again. It did now, and I could hear and feel all the pressure released in the crowd. We went nuts. We really did. Not just me and my pals who were also there in 1998 and 2002, but the crowd as a whole. Some videos might emerge online where we chant that “olé ole´” thing, because the famous South American pronunciation of “Bru-ce” happens to fit perfectly in a Finnish-speakers mouth. (That’s actually how a LOT of Finns pronounce his name in everyday conversations.)
A truly memorable night! Actually, I think this was one of the best rock shows that I’ve ever been to.
Glad you had a great show. I’m jealous of everyone who gets to see this tour — I still have to wait for a continually teased U.S. tour in 2025…
