Hearing this after Skunkworks… wow. The heaviness, the sheer power of this new sound, and the majestic first verse – I can still feel it in my bones every time I hear it. Nothing wrong with Skunkworks, of course, but man, this was something else.
That said, the song itself is not even near Bruce and Roy’s best material. The main riff and the chorus are a bit repetitive, and of course they are a big part of the song. On the other hand, the verses and the solo part are very good, and lines like
visions growing dim as the daylight fades away
a spinning twisting black hole it’s your dying day
just make my day. It’s a nice anthem.
