It takes some time for this one to get going, but when it does, I like it. Not love, but like. Everything works fine in the peaceful atmosphere of the song, the chorus especially is good. Feels like the band is a bit closer to its comfort zone than in many of the other songs on the album.
Some more of the really good backing vocals on this one also. There’s been a lot of criticism around concerning the production of this album, but backing vocals are one thing where the team did a great job!
Right at the end when the song has almost faded out already, Bruce produces a brilliant high-pitched change of heart out of his sleeve. It took me twenty something years to notice that one. Go check it out if you don’t know what I mean, it happens at around 4:43.
