When I was young, I believed that the song is about some sort of utopia, an ideal state, you know, like a country of your dreams. I thought that was stupid, but that’s hardly the songwriters’ fault…
Still, it’s one of the less interesting songs on the album. I think the composition has potential, but somehow the song does not live up to it. It feels like Bruce didn’t quite know what to do with it. The chorus is good, though. Nice guitar chords there, and powerful vocals.
But I really like the part where everybody’s lying on Bruce’s case. Unfortunately it’s quickly over and doesn’t really lead to anything else (even though the guitar solo again is good).
A nice song but something’s missing.
