This one has the feel of something that would have fit a 2000’s Maiden album, maybe with a less heavy main riff. I’ve heard the song described as a mashup of “Freak” and “Headswitch”, and yeah, I can hear where that’s coming from, but I don’t think it’s a fair judgement. Some similar elements but a very different feel.
Not a particularly interesting song, however. Flowing nicely forward, but the chorus doesn’t do the trick for me, and neither does the riff/melody part after the second chorus. The most special part of the song is the ending where Dave Moreno is given space and time to really go for it. That’s a sudden and surprising development, and I enjoy it.
