A good, light-hearted opener with a memorable chorus. It sets the tone and sort of tells the listener that this album’s going to be a bit more casual minded than Bruce’s more metal oriented work. I get this impression from Bruce’s entrance with “yes, yes…” It’s not the best of compositions, but the song grooves nicely with its somewhat unusual rhythmics. Good, lively guitars and a surprisingly busy bass line. Great bright vocals in the chorus.
About that chorus… it’s in a major key. I haven’t done any research, but in addition to “Octavia” and “Devil on a Hog”, there cannot be many in Bruce’s entire discography.
It has just occurred to me that pretty much every song on Tattooed Millionaire utilizes a major key, “Son of a Gun” being the only exception, I think…
